- Quotations provided are estimates only and may change based on actual cargo weight, dimensions, or unforeseen costs such as port surcharges, fuel levies, or currency fluctuations.
- AFS Freight Forwarding acts as an agent on behalf of the client and is not liable for delays caused by carriers, port authorities, customs, or any third party.
- The client is responsible for ensuring all cargo information provided is accurate, complete, and compliant with Australian and international regulations.
4. Bookings & Payments
- All bookings must be confirmed in writing via email.
- Payment terms will be outlined in the individual quotation or invoice provided.
- AFS Freight Forwarding reserves the right to hold or delay shipments in the event of outstanding payments.
- All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless stated otherwise.
- Additional charges may apply for storage, delays, or changes to the original booking.
5. Liability & Limitations
- AFS Freight Forwarding’s liability is limited to the extent permitted under Australian law and relevant international conventions such as the Hague-Visby Rules for sea freight and the Warsaw/Montreal Convention for air freight.
- We are not liable for loss, damage, or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to weather events, strikes, customs delays, war, or acts of government.
- Clients are strongly advised to arrange adequate cargo insurance for all shipments. AFS Freight Forwarding offers cargo insurance as a service but takes no responsibility for uninsured cargo.
6. Customs & Compliance
- The client is solely responsible for ensuring that all goods comply with Australian Border Force requirements and the import/export laws of the origin and destination countries.
- AFS Freight Forwarding will assist with customs clearance as a service, but is not liable for penalties, fines, or delays arising from incorrect or incomplete documentation provided by the client.
- Any duties, taxes, or government charges incurred are the responsibility of the client.
7. Cargo & Prohibited Goods
- Clients must not submit any prohibited, restricted, hazardous, or illegal goods for shipment without prior written approval and proper documentation.
- AFS Freight Forwarding reserves the right to refuse any shipment that does not comply with Australian law or carrier regulations.
- The client indemnifies AFS Freight Forwarding against any claims, fines, or damages arising from the shipment of prohibited or misdeclared goods.
